Dirk never experienced buying a brand new car in his life because it is a costly affair. He do not want to splurge that sort of money on a car, especially when its value drops as soon as you drive it out of the showroom, or you might not want to wait for weeks before it is finally delivered. So far, both our second hand cars really serve its purpose. In a small village like ours, having a car is very important unlike when you live in big cities that there are many public transport available. Owning a car also means paying extra costs which includes, depreciation, interest on your loan, taxes and fees, insurance premiums, fuel costs, maintenance, and repairs.


Germany already finished funding scrappage incentives worth €2,500 to tempt in otherwise reluctant new car buyers, nominally on grounds that scrapping old cars brings a net environmental benefit. This scheme also help to boost the automobile industry here amidst the global economic crisis.

Freiburg (Part 2)

Freiburg is located in southwest Germany near the Swiss and French border. The beautiful black forest surrounding, its mild climate and its relaxed, comfortable and friendly atmosphere make it attractive for many tourists as well as students. Yesterday, i left my car in Offenburg bahnhof and go to Freiburg by train. I planned this day for my nostalgia trip mode and to bond with my cousins and friends (posted in my other blog)


A stroll through Freiburg's lively old quarter is always a delight. The historical town centre is also the hub of modern Freiburg- great for a stroll and a shopper's paradise. Here you can find artists selling work of arts and musicians performing for some donations.

My Puto Experiment

Last sunday, i bought a white king brand puto mix to one of my friend. For the past weeks i am on experimental mode having cooked/baked suman, bibingka, egg pie, buko pie and now puto, a steamed rice cake. My best friend Joy is my food taster/judge and she said my first attempt was okay. Next time i will try to prepare my favorite kuchinta.

LP- Plastik (Plastic)

Happy LP sa lahat ng kasapi ng Litratong Pinoy. Huwebes na naman at ang ating tema para sa araw na ito ay plastik. Ang plastik ay mga bagay na mula sa synthetic o semisynthetic na materyal na nahuhurma. Sa ating mundong ginagalawan tayo ay napapalibutan ng mga plastic na bagay. Silipin din natin ang lahot ng ibang myembro ng LP dito.

Ang aking unang lahok ay ang bag na plastik ng aking kabiyak. Yan ang ginagamit niya kung siya ay pumupunta sa swimming pool sa isang hotel malapit sa aming lugar. Dalawang beses sa isang araw siyang nagswiswimming upang mabawasan ang kanyang timbang.


Ang mga basyo ng boteng plastik at plastik bag ang pangalawa kong lahok. Dito sa Alemanya, upang makatulong sa inang kalikasan, karamihan sa mga bote ay may pfand o deposito na tinatawag upang makolektang muli at hindi nakakalat sa mga kalye. Kung may deposito nga naman ang bote, obligado mong ibalik ito dahil sayang din ang 25 cents na deposito o 15 pesos sa pera natin.



Ang mga plastik na bagay dito ay iniipon at inilalagay sa isang dilaw na plastik. Ang mga ito ay nirerecycle upang mapakinabangang muli. May takdang petsa ang pagkolekta sa mga bagay na ito gayon din sa papel at mga basura.



At higit sa lahat ang pinakaimportanteng bote ng buhay, ang plastik feeding bottle na hawak ng aking cute na apo.

Sunday Night with Friends

After attending Janine's confirmation last sunday, i still have time to visit my friends in the evening. The weather was nice as we dined and have fun together.

Shopping in Heilbronn

Heilbronn is a medium-sized town in south-western Germany, sitting on the Neckar River midway between Heidelberg and Stuttgart. It might not be famous as a tourist magnet but we only want to experience another typical german town. We enjoyed shopping at the city stores because they offer choices of merchandise that matches stores in much larger towns.

My Easter Decorations

I welcome spring and the coming easter with fresh colorful decorating ideas. Even if i prefer to emphasize the Christian aspects of the holiday over bunnies and Easter eggs, it can still be fun to brighten up our house with some inexpensive, quick and easy easter decors. Here's what i did..

Litratong Pinoy- String (Hibla)

Maligayang Huwebes sa lahat ng kasapi ng Litratong Pinoy. Ang tema natin para sa araw na ito ay string o hibla. Atin din palang silipin ang lahok ng ibang miyembro dito

Ang aking lahok sa temang hibla ay ang kurtina ng aking kaibigang si Agnes. Akoy naghahanap ng mailalahok ng mapadako ang aking mata sa kanyang kurtina. Ito ay yari sa mga hibla ng sinulid na nakakadagdag ng ganda sa bahay.

Man's Best Friend

Dogs are amazing creatures! Not only can they be incredible friends, but many dogs provide humans with much needed assistance, as well as love and companionship. No wonder dogs are called ‘man’s best friend’. Their loyalty, intelligence, devotion and affection are incredibly rewarding. There is a dog show in Oberrheinhalle last sunday participated by dogs with talents. I was not able to watch it but i saw pre-selection of dogs of the same breed. They are all subjected to pschological, medical and eye testings before the elimination process.





I suddenly remember our very own Cha cha, our shihtzu dog in the Philippines. Her favorite pastime is watching in you tube.

Ladies and Gentlemen....at Work

It's been days that Elena's friends and family are busy preparing loads of stuff for shipment to Japan. The items includes furnitures, decorations, kitchen stuff and other house needs. It also shows that bayanihan spirit is alive here as well, our filipino trait of unity or effort to achieve a particular objective.





We have a sumptuous pinoy lunch after helping them a little bit.

Litratong Pinoy- Likas (Human Nature)

Happy LP sa lahat ng kasapi ng Litratong Pinoy. Ang tema para sa araw na ito ay likas o human nature, ang lahok ng iba pang mga miyembro ay matutunghayan dito.

Ang aking lahok ay ang mga supling ng aking mga kaibigan at kamag anak na may asawa ring Aleman dito. Sadyang napakaganda ng bunga ng kanilang pagmamahalan. Makikita talaga ang likas na kagandahan bagama't may dugong banyaga, litaw pa rin talaga ang angking gandang Pinay.






May lahi man o wala, ang mga batang ito ay likas ang pagiging bata, kapag nagkasama sama ay nagkakaintindihan.

Likas rin sa ating mga tao anuman ang kulay ng balat na kapag naglalakad sa isang pampublikong lugar at may nakitang kaibigan, ay talagang hihinto at magkukumustahan.
