Porcelain Collections
For many years, my friend blogger is collecting owls of different sizes and forms while i'm fond of angels and clowns. Last weekend, we visited a family friend and i was amazed by her collections, vases, flowers and other figures made of porcelain.

Multitasking
Women do multitask, we have established this fact. I can blog while i'm cooking, uploading pictures while ironing clothes, surfing the net while eating. The best way to pass the time while exercising is also to multitask- i'm running on a treadmill while watching my filipino movies. Being a mom also takes balance. Multitasking is a way of life and definitely a lifeline for all mothers.

Kids Early Training
Parents should trained early their children on family responsibility and sharing workloads at home. The key is to start when they are young. They should be given some insights on the importance of helping out in the family and let them understand the concept that household chores should be shared. Let them have something to do that is just expected of them, in the same way that brushing their teeth and washing their hands are expected of them.
Kati, Joy's daughter already know her responsibility at home. She even cooked her own lunch today and help her mother by preparing ingredients for cooking. Being responsible for tasks and feeling that they're part of the family fosters self-esteem, and besides it prepare her for one of her role in the future.

Food Trip
Dirk like very much to eat rabbit meat. Its good for his diet plan because its almost cholesterol free, contains less fats and a nutritious source of protein. Dirk convinced me to try to taste it but i cannot, i pity the animal so much.
Today, Joy and me craved for fried dilis with tomatoes and tuna omelet. Her husband complained of the smell, the same with Dirk the other day when i fried danggit in our garage.

A Lazy Sunday
While sunday in the Philippines is a family and malling day, here in Germany is more of relaxing day. Some spend weekend with family, friends and relatives, no shopping because stores are closed. Many visitors to Germany can find themselves standing outside a closed department store, perplexed to find that they cannot do a bit of shopping during their weekend trip. But small shops in train stations and airports are excempted from the restriction. The use of machines outside the house is also not allowed because it will create noise to the neighbors. For me and Dirk, its sunday as usual, swimming/playing golf for him, watching TV/DVD and browsing the web for me.

Colored-Theme Houses
Yesterday, when we attended Jasmine's second birthday its very noticeable the colored-themed houses in the village. Houses in red, blue, white, orange ruled the roadway. The place embraced a more striking element by painting each houses with varied colors. If in the Philippines, we have coding scheme for motorists to ease the traffic in the metropolis, there are also some houses here with color coding for identification purposes.

Litratong Pinoy- Mantsa (Stain)

Minka 3
Minka is the family cat of the Deichelbohrer. One time, they were worried because Minka 3 didn't showed up for almost 24 hours. The last years, they also have Minka 1&2, the first Minka died after she fell from higher ground and Minka2 was run over by a car and the family were depressed for days. Of course they dont want Minka 3 to suffer the same fate.
Alas!! Minka 3 showed up the next day not alone but with two male cat companions. Cats also needs friends and nightlife, right????
Here Minka showing one of her talent, drinking milk using both her left and right legs, she is also fond of collecting hair rubber bands.

Rose Monday
Rosenmontag (Rose Monday)is the highlight of the German "Karneval" (carnival)in Germany. Celebrations usually include dressing up in fancy costumes, dancing, parades, heavy drinking and general public displays with floats. Every town in the Karneval areas boasts at least one parade with floats making fun of the themes of the day. It is observed mainly in Catholic regions as a season of feasting and fun before the fasting period of Lent.
Children also goes from house to house just like our caroling and the house owner give something in return (chocolates, candies, etc)

Happy Chinese New Year!!!
Kukuk, the Talking Bird
Many kinds of birds can be taught to imitate human speech. Some are able to remember more words, sing songs and utter several sentences. For thousand of years, parrot birds have been kept as pets because of their nice colors and ability as mimics. Just like yesterday at Carmen's place, she took Kukuk out of her cage because she's immitating the telephone call sound. We thought somebody is calling but its Kukuk who learned some german language and different sounds. Kukuk liked very much my leche plan and even orange juice.

Inequality and Poverty
Poverty is a global issue and it exists everywhere to some degree. Around the world, in rich or poor nations, poverty has always been present. Poverty is the current state for the majority of the world’s people and nations. In most countries today, inequality—the gap between the rich and the poor—is quite high and often widening. The causes are numerous, including a lack of individual responsibility, bad government policy and many others. In the global context, a few get wealthy while the majority struggle.

Carnival Pastry
What i like more during carnival season here in Germany is the Fastnachtschüechli. This seasonal biscuit really tastes good, very crispy and its sprinkled with powdered sugar. It looks like pancake but not soft and its sold in pack of 6.
As Carneval continues there has been much rummaging around stores and store rooms to find the components of ever more fanciful costumes.

Life Goes On
The harsh winter weather continued to batter Germany with more snow in the forecast. The winter is not yet over and there was no sign that the condition might change in the coming days. Whatever the temperature is, life goes on everywhere. People from all walks of life still do their activities regardless of plus and minus in weather. Though its very cold, i find myself again in the city. I meet my friends there and do some window shopping.

Köln Shopping Galore
Mutti's birthday celebration started at 6 in the evening so we still have time to visit one of the world's known Cathedral, the Kölner Dom. It is one of the best-known architectural monuments in Germany and Cologne's most famous landmark.
The shopping center is just near the Cathedral where there are hundreds of stores to choose from. We bought kitchen stuff at WMF, winter clothings and accesories.

80 Years and Counting
Dirk's mom celebrated her 80th birthday yesterday at the Chocolate Museum in Köln. It's a coincidence that my mother and my brother shared the same birthdate with Mutti. But my mother have been long gone to heaven and i thank GOD that i still have one mother here on earth. Birthdays remind us that the gift of life is the most precious and important one and to reach 80 years of age calls for a big celebration.
To you Mutti, we're wishing you happiness, good health and all the great things in life that you can still do, just live your life and forget the age, each coming day is a blessing.
Mutti requested that instead of flowers and gifts, donations can be put in her piggy bank to be distributed to different charitable institutions. Mutti is a generous person, she always share her blessings to charities and to the less fortunates.
