Election Day

This is a late post because of our Bohol trip. Last May 9, i exercised my right to vote as a citizen of this country at Langgam Elementary School. It was fast because i am a senior citizen and i go to the polling place very early because of our flight. Anyway, we now have a new President in the person of Bongbong Marcos and Vice President Sara Duterte. Twelve senators were also elected and here in San Pedro, we also have a new Mayor which cuts the political dynasty. Anyway, we just hope that these newly elected government officials will do what they promised to the people.

Happy Mother's Day

Happy mother's day to all great moms out there, the heartbeat in all our homes.  It is the day we give honor and to appreciate their  contributions, sacrifice and unconditional love to the family. Today, we just have a very simple celebration at our family home. Its a nice feeling to be with family and i am very happy that all my daughters and daughters in law are good mothers.

Mother's Death Anniversary

Yesterday is the 16th death anniversary of my beloved mother. I still remember flying from Portugal to Germany to Manila to be able to attend to her wake and burial. We visited her grave at  Everlasting Peace Memorial Park and i know she is really very happy in heaven together with our other loved ones.

Maybe its a coincidence that her death anniversary is always close to Mother's day. To you Nay, happy mother's day in heaven and we love you dearly.

Election Fever

On my birthday, there will be new President and other public official. The national election will be held on Monday, May 9 and millions of Filipinos will go to polling places to choose who will lead the country in the next 6 years. My sister is really very busy campaigning for her presidential choice. For me, i am still not decided on who i am going to vote. Anyway, our lives is still the same, if you did not work and strive hard, you will not succeed. Your success depends on you and not on whom you vote. Our country is still very much heavily indebted, poor will remain poor and the rich getting richer. I just hope and pray that the new leaders will make our lives better and make the poor their priorities.

Meet Peter, Our New Friend

Everyday, dirk is walking around the village but of course within his strength. Along the way, he met Peter, an Austrian guy who is also married to a Filipina. He invited him at home and we had a nice conversation about life here in the Philippines. He is 73 years old, 30 years senior than his wife who has multiple businesses here around San Pedro.

Stay at Home Again

Accident do happen and sometimes we really cannot avoid it. We really need to be aware of what we are doing and we should always watch our step. Because of my lack of concentration, i missed a step and fall in the market. Good thing there are some people who helped me and to make my story short, i landed in the emergency room of Unihealth Southwoods. I got a hairline fracture on my left ankle, bruised foot and thanks God i don't need an operation at the moment. I am now on  crutches and my walker becomes my best friend.

Meet Our New Baby

Our new baby, actually my 15th grandchild was born last April 12. She is the second kid of Pau and Jr, my youngest and they named her Chloe Isabelle.  I am lucky to be blessed with 14 grandchildren from my kids and one great grandaughter from my first born apo Argie. I thanked God for giving me a big family and for always being there loving, caring and supporting us. As a grandma, i wish them to be respectful of elders, loving kid to their parents, God-fearing and prioritize study so that we will have a good future.
