Ulay Goes to School

Lyka Anjanette or Ulay as we fondly called her is now attending a nursery school. My 2 1/2 year old grandaughter seems to enjoy her first day studying and playing together with her newfound friends.

Kaputt T-Shirt

The other day, Dirk wear his new t-shirt and motorcycle jacket. As part of his losing weight program, he played golf and swim twice a day. He goes to the golf course and private swimming pool using his motorcyle so that he can save on gasoline. When he returned from swimming, i noticed that there is a black stain on his t-shirt so i decided to wash it. Below is the result, i'm clueless of what happened. Its not the washing machine, maybe the culprit is the black stains from the motorcycle jacket or maybe not....

Nesselried Brennt

Also last sunday, the annual Nesselried Brennt festival was held in our place. Nesselried is very famous for the distillation of fruit juice to produce high percentage liquor.

Aside from different liquors, there are also some stores selling different stuff.

Joy is Back

Joy, one of my best friend came back last Friday after a month-long stay in the Philippines. Together with Madam Jo, her sister, they visited their ailing father who died a week after they arrived. She's now back to her family and to work as well.

Retirement Haven

The other day, the Philippines was featured in our newspaper, The Acher Rench Zeitung as potential retirement haven/holiday getaway for europeans. Its a one page article about the nice life in our homeland with a pictures of germans enjoying the sand and the sun complete with pampering.

Retirement means relaxing and enjoying life and what better way than in a tropical environment and it depends on you how lavish a lifestyle you wish to enjoy. Our country may well be the best place or an option to spend one's twilight years.

The Boxes

Our house looks like a warehouse because of the boxes around. We're sending two more balikbayan boxes to the Philippines and Dirk was able to sell some stuff at Ebay so he's sending it to the winning bidder.
